Q-2018/11 Qatar – FIFA 2022 – Lusail Iconic Solar Stadium

Lo scopo del lavoro del progetto consiste in uno stadio coperto con tetto a rete completamente retrattile situato ad Al Daayen, in Qatar. Nello stadio si giocheranno le partite di apertura e di chiusura della Coppa del Mondo.

La pelle esterna del dhow sail styled stadium è una struttura concava che incorpora il sistema di feritoie per la facilità e il piacere dei fan e dei giocatori. Lo stadio, ad energia solare ed accessibile da 6 ponti, sarà circondato da una pozza d’acqua con il tetto sostenuto da colonne ad arco ed avrà una propria stazione della metropolitana.

The project’s scope of work consist of a fully retractable cable net roofed stadium located at Al Daayen, Qatar. The stadium will serve the opening and closing matches of the World Cup and will have seating capacity for 86,250 spectators.

The dhow sail styled stadium’s outer skin is a concave structure incorporating louver system for ease and pleasure of the fans and players. The stadium would be surrounded by a pool of water with its roof supported by arching columns. The solar-powered stadium which can be accessed by 6 bridges, will have its own metro station and will be linked to highways and bus routes.
